Abdallat emphasizes royal efforts in promoting human values in Jordan

Jordan Daily – Dr. Khalil Abdallat, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Prime Minister’s Office, lauded the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II as a global model in promoting human rights and strengthening regional and international peace and security.

Speaking during an event organized by the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies on Tuesday, attended by the Irish Ambassador to Jordan, Marianne Bolger, and UN Resident Coordinator in Jordan, Sheri Ritsema-Anderson, Abdallat emphasized that Jordan’s celebration of Human Rights Day reflects the nation’s longstanding commitment to protecting human rights and preserving human dignity since its establishment.

Abdallat highlighted that the Jordanian Constitution serves as a strong foundation for principles of freedom, justice, and equality, with national legislation and policies inspired by the noble principles of human rights, aligning with His Majesty’s forward-looking vision.

He underscored the pivotal role of the Jordanian government in translating this vision into practical policies and legislation that uphold human rights across various sectors.

These efforts include enacting laws to promote social justice and establishing national institutions dedicated to monitoring violations and safeguarding rights, reflecting a genuine commitment to integrating human rights into Jordan’s comprehensive development journey.

“Through his wise leadership, His Majesty King Abdullah II has shaped a global vision that enhances the values of peace and human rights,” Abdallat stated.

He added that the King’s support for international efforts to end conflicts and address global challenges threatening security and stability has cemented Jordan’s reputation as a leading nation in safeguarding human rights and ensuring human security on both national and international levels.

Abdallat stressed that Human Rights Day is not merely an occasion but a renewed call for continuous action to embed the culture of human rights in all aspects of life.

He affirmed that, under the Hashemite leadership, Jordan remains a beacon for upholding human dignity and protecting fundamental rights and freedoms for all.
