Jordan Daily – Former deputy prime minister Mohammad Al-Halaiqa emphasized the vital role of the private sector as a key driver of economic activity and a significant provider of job opportunities.
In a televised interview, he highlighted that investment is far from being a mere hobby or a hypothetical venture; instead, it is a comprehensive economic process that requires essential foundations, supportive factors, a robust legislative system, an open economic environment, reasonable production costs, efficient government management, reliable infrastructure, and favorable investment prospects.
With almost a year having elapsed since the inception of the Economic Modernisation Vision , Al-Halaiqa emphasized the importance of evaluating and reviewing the accomplishments achieved in terms of generating job opportunities and promoting investments.
Dr. Halaiqa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Jordan in 1976 and a PhD in chemistry from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, in 1979. Throughout his career, he has held various prominent positions, including: Minister of Industry and Trade , Minister of State , Minister of National Economy, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Administrative Development
In addition to his political roles, Dr. Halaiqa served as a member of the Senate for multiple terms and held leading positions in several Jordanian companies.
