Ambassador Haleem inaugurates India pavilion at Arab Pharma Expo

Jordan Daily – Ambassador of India to Jordan, Mr Anwar Haleem inaugurated the ‘India Pavilion’ in the ongoing Arab Pharma Manufacturers’ Expo 2023 on July 11, 2023 at the Jordan International Exhibition Centre (JIEC), Amman.

The ‘India Pavilion’ was set up by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) with support of the Embassy of India. The 5th edition of Arab Pharma Manufacturers’ Expo 2023 is being jointly organized by Arab Union of The Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Appliances (AUPAM), and GPE EXPO PVT. LTD., India and is duly supported by EEPC INDIA, Jordan Food & Drug Administration (JFDA) and EPB (Export Promotion Bureau), Bangladesh from July 11-12, 2023 , according to a statement by  the Embassy of India.

A total of 192 companies are participating in the Expo with Indian Pavilion being represented by more than 100 companies. EEPC mobilized participation of 38 Indian companies in following product categories: Processing Machines (Tablet/Capsule/Injectable/ Ointment/Powder-Dry Syrup), Packaging Machinery & Materials , Cleanroom & Utility Equipments & Services, Analytical & Biotech Lab Instruments, Pharma Formulations & Contract Manufacturing, Water Treatment & Management Systems etc.

The India Pavilion was well received by the public and garnered active interest among the visitors, as it showcased their strengths in technologies and capabilities in the field of modern manufacturing process & machinery and attracted vast number of visitors, the statement said.

India’s exports of pharmaceutical products to Jordan was US$ 28.14 million in the last financial year 2022-23, which has grown by 33% over the year 2021-22. The Expo is expected to pave way for Indian companies to further engage and conduct business with Jordanian as well as other companies in the region.

Ambassador, while interacting with the exhibitors, highlighted the acceptance and high demand of Indian pharma engineering equipments and API/Chemicals by the pharma manufacturing industry among the Middle East region , acknowledging EEPC’s efforts in successful organization of the pavilion.
