Jordan Daily – Jordan is moving ahead with the implementation of major strategic projects under its Economic Modernisation Vision, with the Amra City project emerging as a flagship development aimed at building a strong and sustainable national economy.

Former minister and civil engineering professor Mohammad Taleb Obaidat said Amra City represents a modern, smart and sustainable urban model designed according to global standards for future cities. He said the project goes beyond urban expansion, offering an integrated development vision focused on innovation, efficient resource use and improved quality of life.

Obaidat noted in press remarks that the launch of infrastructure works by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan signals the project’s transition from planning to execution. The city will feature advanced infrastructure, integrated transport, energy and water systems, digital public services, green spaces and social facilities, easing pressure on central Amman.

He added that Amra City is closely linked to Jordan’s economic reform agenda, expected to attract local and foreign investment, create jobs and support growth in technology, services and knowledge-based industries, while contributing to environmental sustainability and climate goals.
