Jordan Daily – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is set to arrive in Amman on Sunday as part of his annual solidarity visit during the holy month of Ramadan, which began in Egypt.
This year’s visit comes at a turbulent time amid the aggression on Gaza, according to UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq, who confirmed that the Secretary-General will visit facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which provides essential services to the population, highlighting the UN’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities amidst crises.
Guterres is scheduled to visit UNRWA facilities in Amman on Monday and will have Iftar with a number of Palestinian refugees and UN staff in the capital, emphasizing the importance of compassion and unity during times of hardship.
