Aqaba Authority Takes Firm Stance Against Beach and Sea Polluters

Jordan Daily – Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Nayef Al Fayez emphasized that anyone who dumps waste in the sea or on the beaches will face legal consequences.

In a recent interview, Al-Fayez highlighted the ongoing clean-up campaigns conducted by the Authority in collaboration with maritime and environmental partners. The objective of these campaigns is to preserve the beaches of Aqaba, ensuring they are welcoming to visitors during the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations.

The Authority plans to send text messages and distribute brochures to city visitors, raising awareness about the detrimental impact of waste on the marine environment. These initiatives aim to remind visitors of the environmental risks posed to marine life and coral reefs.

Al-Fayez further stated that individuals found littering the beaches will be held accountable under the Marine Environmental Protection Law.
