Jordan Daily – The Arab ministerial contact group reaffirmed its support for the Syrian people and their right to determine their future during a meeting in Aqaba on Saturday, calling for an inclusive political transition in the war-torn country.
The group, which includes representatives from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, also emphasized the importance of respecting the rights of all Syrians, regardless of ethnicity, sect, or religion. It called for justice and equality for all citizens.
Foreign ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain-currently chairing the Arab League summit-and Qatar were also present at the meeting. The group reiterated its backing for a Syrian-led political process aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict.
