Jordan Daily – Jordanian Armed Forces said on Sunday that a vehicle attempted to break through a military checkpoint in the northern border area of Qarn, refusing orders to stop.
Troops applied rules of engagement after exhausting other options, the army said in a statement. The vehicle was halted and two people inside were wounded, later died in hospital.
A military investigation has been opened into the incident. The army urged citizens to comply with instructions at checkpoints, warning it will act under engagement rules against violations.
