Jordan Daily – A group exhibition, Art & Dialogue, opened at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts on Thursday under the patronage of HRH Princess Wijdan Al Hashemi.
The show follows the Euro-Jordanian-Arab Artists Symposium held May 16–21 and features artists from Austria, Germany, Greece, France, the Netherlands, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq. It was supported by the EU Delegation to Jordan and EUNIC Jordan.

The event was attended by EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas and numerous diplomats and cultural figures.
“Arts and culture are an integral part of the relations between Jordan and the European Union,” said Chatzisavas. “This symposium is a reminder that art transcends borders and fosters people-to-people dialogue.”
A roundtable on May 20, titled The Role of Art in Times of War and Crisis, allowed participating artists to reflect on collaboration and the power of expression in turbulent times.
“Art is a necessity, not a luxury,” said Dr. Khalid Khreis, Director General of the National Gallery. “It plays a vital role in the lives of societies, often standing alongside justice, equality, love, and peace.”
Proceeds from artwork sales will go to Tkiyet Um Ali, a Jordanian NGO fighting hunger locally and in the occupied Palestinian territory.
“Creativity can be an act of solidarity,” said Samer Balkar, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali.
The exhibition runs until June 5.
