Jordan Daily - University of Petra said it is seeking to expand academic and research cooperation with Greek institutions following talks with Greece’s ambassador to Jordan.
University President Rami Abdel Rahem met Greek Ambassador to Jordan Eirini Riga to discuss strengthening partnerships, with a focus on dentistry and clinical training, the university said in a statement.
Abdel Rahem said the university aims to open new avenues of collaboration with leading Greek universities, adding that discussions included potential student exchanges, joint clinical training programs and the sharing of academic expertise.
The meeting was attended by Dentistry Faculty Dean Firas Alsoleihat
and faculty members who are graduates of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The Greek delegation was also briefed on the university’s development and technological infrastructure across its academic programs.
Riga also met former education minister Dr. Mahmoud Abu Mouis
and Petra Education Company Director Khaled Areeim during the visit.
At the end of the meeting, Abdel Rahem presented the ambassador with a commemorative shield in recognition of her efforts to support academic and cultural exchange.
Riga praised the university’s advanced facilities, particularly the use of modern technology in its dentistry school, and stressed the importance of continued coordination to advance cooperation between academic institutions in both countries.
