Jordan Daily - Al Khalidi Hospital announced the successful completion of its fourth transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation procedure, reinforcing its position as a leader in advanced cardiac interventions within Jordan’s private healthcare sector.
The latest procedure follows three previous successful cases performed at the hospital, making Al Khalidi Hospital the first private healthcare institution in Jordan to carry out four pulmonary valve implantations via catheterization without the need for open-heart surgery, the hospital said in a short statement seen by Jordan Daily.
The minimally invasive procedure was performed under the supervision of Professor Ziyad Hijazi and Dr. Khaled Salaymeh, with the participation of specialized catheterization, anesthesia and multidisciplinary medical teams.
Founded in 1978, Al Khalidi Hospital was Jordan’s first private hospital. Established under the leadership of its founder, Dr. Ibrahim Al Khalidi, the institution began as a center specializing in maternal healthcare and has since evolved into one of the country’s leading multi-specialty medical facilities.
