Jordan Daily - Al-Kindi Hospital has dedicated its fifth operating room, known as the “Kuwait Operating Room”, to plastic and reconstructive surgery, offering procedures supported by specialized equipment and a team of consultants with medical and practical expertise, the hospital said.
The room is equipped for a broad range of reconstructive procedures, including breast reconstruction, cleft-lip treatment, correction of congenital defects, burn and scar treatment, hand surgery and microsurgery. It also performs cosmetic procedures involving the face, nose and neck, as well as body contouring.
The hospital said the operating room features advanced technologies including VASER, J-Plasma and PowerShape systems, along with specialized operating tables, modern vital-sign monitoring equipment and high-precision surgical instruments, microscopes and endoscopic equipment.
Al-Kindi said its J-Plasma system is the first officially installed system of its kind in Jordanian hospitals and is used for skin tightening and treating loose skin and wrinkles in areas including the arms, abdomen, flanks, chest, breasts, buttocks, thighs, face, chin and neck. The hospital said it can be used particularly for patients who have lost substantial amounts of weight and developed excess skin.
VASER technology uses ultrasound energy to assist in removing localized fat while preserving surrounding tissue, according to the hospital. It can be used in areas including the abdomen, thighs, arms, chest, knees, hips, waist, face, neck and legs, with the hospital citing reduced bruising and bleeding and faster recovery compared with conventional approaches.
PowerShape is used following body-contouring procedures and is intended to help improve circulation, reduce swelling and support recovery.
The hospital said the room follows international quality and infection-control standards and is supported by specialized anesthesia and intensive-care teams, with patients monitored before, during and after surgery and provided with round-the-clock inpatient care.
Al-Kindi has 12 operating rooms named after Arab, international and Jordanian cities and regions, including Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, Dubai, Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Hamburg and London.
The private hospital provides a range of medical services, including bariatric and plastic surgery, vascular surgery, fertility treatment, interventional radiology, cancer screening, organ transplantation, cardiac catheterization and open-heart surgery, gastrointestinal endoscopy and emergency care.
