BRT helps but won’t end Amman traffic jams, Ex-Minister says

By : JD

Jordan Daily – Former Transport Minister Khalid Saif said traffic congestion in the capital Amman cannot be fully resolved.

Speaking on a local podcast, seen by Jordan Daily, Saif said there is no single measure that can solve the city’s traffic problems. He noted that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has helped prevent congestion from worsening, but it is not a complete solution.

“The BRT contributes to easing traffic, but other measures are needed in coordination with agencies such as the traffic department,” Saif said.

He added that an integrated administrative framework should be created to bring together the city’s coaster bus services under a single umbrella.
