
Jordan Daily – During an international conference held in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, dedicated to economic and political developments in the Middle East, Bulgarian expert on Middle Eastern and Arab affairs Anastas Terzobaliev was honored with a High Academic Award for International Cooperation by Tishk International University, the largest private university in Iraq.
The award was presented by Prof. Mohammed Idris, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the Republic of Iraq, in the presence of Prof. Sultan Uthman Usrabi, President of Tishk International University, as well as a number of academics, professors, and diplomats from across the region.

The distinction recognizes Mr. Terzobaliev’s active contribution to strengthening academic collaboration and the internationalization of Tishk International University- including partnerships with the University of National and World Economy (Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov), Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), and other leading European universities.

Following the ceremony, together with Assoc. Prof. Todor Yalamov and Prof. Mohammed Idris, Mr. Terzobaliev had the honor of being received at the Presidential Palace in Erbil, where a meeting was held with Dr. Fauzi Hariri, Chief of Staff to H.E. Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
“I sincerely thank all colleagues and partners for their trust, collaboration, and support. I firmly believe that education and science are the strongest bridges between nations, while universities are engines of innovation, diplomacy, and economic development,” said Anastas Terzobaliev upon receiving the award.

Anastas Terzobaliev is a Bulgarian entrepreneur, researcher, and expert in Middle Eastern and Arab affairs. He has extensive experience in international relations, education, and economic cooperation across the Middle East and Europe. Mr. Terzobaliev has participated in numerous academic and diplomatic initiatives promoting collaboration between universities, institutions, and business communities in the region.
