
Jordan Daily – The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) on Tuesday signed agreements to launch the Kingdom’s first locally hosted integrated cloud cybersecurity platform (SASE: Secure Access Service Edge) and designate the hub as the bank’s official disaster recovery site.
The agreements were signed by Central Bank Deputy Governor Dr. Khaldoun Al-Wshah and Aqaba Digital Hub CEO Eng. Eyad Abu Khorma at the hub’s headquarters.
The launch is part of efforts by the Central Bank’s cybersecurity incident response team for the financial sector (Jo-FinCERT) to enhance security levels and the sector’s resilience against growing cyber threats,” by offering a comprehensive umbrella of cybersecurity solutions, the bank said in a statement seen by Jordan Daily.
Dr. Al-Wshah stated, “Launching the SASE platform and approving Aqaba Digital Hub’s data center as the disaster recovery site supports the Central Bank’s direction in building a secure and advanced digital environment that stabilizes the financial sector,” adding that it “enables institutions to effectively face cyber challenges” and aligns with “Royal directives emphasizing the adoption of global tech solutions and expanding cybersecurity across critical sectors.”
Eng. Abu Khorma said, “We are proud today to launch the first national SASE platform, part of our ongoing efforts to provide a secure and independent digital infrastructure,” adding, “The Central Bank’s trust confirms the strategic importance of Aqaba Digital Hub and increases our responsibility to offer the best digital solutions for the Kingdom.”
