Classic Fashion donates waste sorting containers to schools in Ramtha

Jordan Daily – Classic Fashion, a leading garment manufacturer, has donated on Thursday twelve waste sorting containers to four schools in Ramtha as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to raise environmental awareness among students.

Manoj Francis, Assistant General Manager of Human Resources at Classic Fashion, expressed strong support for the initiative, stating, “We feel this initiative which is focusing on environmental development is an investment to a sustainable future. This corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity of ours is in collaboration with schools since these young minds will be the guards of the future.”

He added that children in future will opt for all nature-friendly equipment, materials and they will try to realize the importance of keeping the country clean which will be good for the country, for them and for all. “Together we all can make a difference and save the environment.”

Amaal Bani Melhem, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Ramtha Education Directorate, praised the partnership with Classic Fashion, saying, “In line with the Ministry of Education’s vision to collaborate with community institutions, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Classic Fashion for their efforts in distributing twelve waste sorting containers across four schools in Ramtha.”

Prior to the donation, Classic Fashion held awareness sessions for students on how to properly handle, sort, and dispose of materials for recycling. These sessions aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and resource conservation among students, Bani Melhem noted.

The schools receiving the waste sorting containers are Al-Karama Basic Mixed School, Al-Istiqlal First Basic Mixed School, Hay Al-Sadd Basic Mixed School, and Asim bin Thabit Basic School.

This corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative goes beyond donation. The schools have committed to providing Classic Fashion with monthly reports on the amount of plastic they collect. The company will offer guidance on how to effectively manage the collected plastic waste, marking a small but significant step toward recycling efforts.
