Classic Fashion organizes World Youth Day event in Amman focused on climate change

Jordan Daily – Classic Fashion, through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) team, organized on Monday a World Youth Day 2025 event at the El-Hassan Youth Award Camp – Prince El -Hassan Forest, welcoming 70 girls aged 13 to 17.

Held in collaboration with the Royal Scientific Society and the El-Hassan Youth Award Camp, and coordinated with the Ministry of Education, the program included a lecture on climate change and interactive environmental and community activities.

Dr. Khawla Al-Hassan, Director of the El-Hassan Youth Award, said the event highlighted the importance of climate change awareness for young people. “We are pleased with today’s event as it allows us to celebrate International Youth Day and address a critical issue affecting all countries.”

“Climate change is impacting societies worldwide, including Jordan. The United Nations has established a clear plan for global cooperation to limit and mitigate its effects on humans, the environment, water, and other life sources,”  Al-Hassan noted.

Haya Taweel, specialist at Royal Scientific Society’s Water, Environment, and Climate Change Center, delivered a lecture to participants explaining the basic concepts of climate change, its sectoral impacts, future projections, and local and international response mechanisms, including major global climate agreements.

Taweel emphasized the Royal Scientific Society’s ongoing commitment to empowering youth to engage in climate action through technical support and community involvement.

Employees from Classic Fashion’s HR, Compliance, HCM, Governance, Safety, Sustainability, and ME departments also joined the event, engaging with participants and helping distribute gifts, ensuring a smooth and friendly experience for all attendees.

The event also featured environmental and community initiatives designed to foster sustainability and social responsibility. Participants received custom T-shirts, basil plants, and eco-friendly reusable bags, underscoring efforts to cultivate environmentally conscious youth capable of protecting the planet and contributing to their communities’ future, according to Raya Abu Dalbouh of Classic Fashion’s CSR team.
