
Jordan Daily -His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, visited the Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Thursday, where he was briefed on its operational plans, as well as the security and humanitarian services provided through its various units.
The Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II’s pride and confidence in PSD personnel, and their efforts to maintain security, protect lives and property, and fight crime.
His Royal Highness praised the PSD’s development efforts, particularly its introduction of modern technologies to security and police work systems to enhance performance, emphasising the need to continue keeping pace with technological advancements.
The Crown Prince was briefed on the technological systems used by the Command and Control Centre (911), and the PSD’s procedures for responding to security reports.
For his part, PSD Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah said the directorate, across all its departments and units, operates according to a comprehensive strategic plan, based on four pillars: security, traffic safety, humanitarian service, and community awareness.
Maaytah said the PSD is moving forward with its development and modernisation efforts, enhancing the efficiency of its personnel, and keeping pace with the latest policing sciences and advanced technologies in order to raise the level of security services.
His Royal Highness also viewed an exhibition showcasing the latest vehicles and equipment being utilised by the police force and civil defence, as well as drones.
