Druze protesters block roads, urge Israel to help Druze in Syria

Jordan Daily – Druze protesters blocked major highways in northern Israel overnight, demanding government intervention to protect the Druze community in Syria amid escalating sectarian violence.

Demonstrators shut down sections of Highways 6, 65, and 85, causing severe traffic disruptions and scuffles with drivers.

Protesters burned tires and hoisted Druze flags at intersections. Additional rallies were held near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea.

The unrest follows reports of dozens killed in Syria’s Sweida province. Sheikh Muafak Tarif, spiritual leader of Israel’s Druze community, and Yisrael Beytenu MK Hamad Amar urged demonstrators to disperse and return home.
