Jordan Daily – Dubai Chambers said it explored new opportunities to deepen trade and investment ties with Greece during an official visit to Athens, as part of its efforts to expand economic partnerships under its “Growth Corridors” initiative.

The Dubai delegation was led by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, president and chief executive of Dubai Chambers. The visit focused on identifying new areas of cooperation and strengthening links between the business communities of Dubai and Greece.

“Dubai and Greece share a long-standing relationship spanning a wide range of sectors,”Al Mansoori said.”This visit reflects our continued commitment to expanding strategic partnerships and strengthening international cooperation. We are focused on identifying new trade and investment opportunities that create lasting, high-value partnerships and deliver tangible benefits for businesses in both markets.”

During the visit, the delegation held meetings with senior representatives from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Growthfund – Greece’s national investment fund -and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), which represents more than 120,000 companies. Talks were also held with the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Enterprise Greece, and Endeavor Greece.

Dubai Chambers signed a memorandum of understanding with ACCI aimed at boosting cooperation in trade and industry and supporting the exchange of business delegations. The agreement was signed by Lootah and Ioannis Bratakos, president of ACCI.

The delegation highlighted support available to Greek companies seeking to establish operations in Dubai and expand into regional and global markets. Opportunities linked to Dubai’s major business platforms, including the Expand North Star technology event and Dubai Founders HQ, were also outlined.

Discussions covered potential cooperation in sectors including aviation, ports, infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism, and finance, with a shared emphasis on innovation and artificial intelligence. Participants also discussed boosting two-way investment and strengthening ties between family-owned businesses in both markets.

Non-oil trade between Dubai and Greece reached AED 2 billion ($544 million) in 2024, up 13.7% year on year, Dubai Chambers said. The number of Greek companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce rose to 419, reflecting annual growth of 22.5%.
