Jordan Daily – Eight Israeli soldiers crossed into Jordan by mistake late last month and were briefly detained before being returned to Israel, a source familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
The source said the incident took place on Aug. 27, when the soldiers crossed a short distance into Jordanian territory, prompting border guards to detain them.
Following an investigation, security services determined the soldiers had crossed unintentionally, the source added. They were released and handed back to Israel in line with existing border security agreements between the two countries.
