Jordan Daily – The Philippines Embassy in Jordan held a Filipino Open Day on Friday at the Language City Cafe in Amman, celebrating the cultural ties between the Philippines and Jordan.
The Philippines Ambassador Wilfredo C. Santos welcomed guests, including ambassadors, dignitaries, embassy partners, and members of the Filipino community, thanking the event’s organizers for their role in promoting friendship between the two countries.

“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Assem Al Khatib, owner of Language City Cafe and founder of BlaBla Language Exchange Jordan, and Mr. Yasser Abdullah, events manager, for making this event possible,” Santos said.
He added “Today’s event is more than just a celebration; it is a testament to the enduring friendship between our two countries as we continue to build bridges through cultural exchanges and by celebrating our shared values and aspirations as well as meaningful differences that complement and unite us.”
The event featured Filipino food, music, games, language and cultural exchanges, as well as information about tourist destinations in the Philippines.
Assem Al Khatib, in his remarks, thanked Ambassador Santos and the embassy for their participation and noted the significance of the Filipino community in Jordan, calling it one of the largest expatriate groups in the country. He also highlighted the richness of Filipino culture.
The Filipino Open Day aimed to promote cultural understanding and strengthen the bond between Jordan and the Philippines through shared traditions and values.
