Jordan Daily – The European Union (EU) will next month launch a new regional cooperation program for the Mediterranean with a budget of €234 million. The program, called the “Mediterranean CBC Program,” will support new projects across a range of sectors, including environment, climate change, energy, transport, and tourism.
The program is being coordinated by the EU’s Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) initiative, which is already working with 13 countries in the Mediterranean region to fund joint projects. The CBC initiative has so far supported a total of 80 projects, of which 56 are located in Jordan and worth €23.5 million.
The new Mediterranean CBC Program is expected to have a significant impact on the region, helping to boost economic growth, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for people in the Mediterranean.
The program will also help to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the region, such as climate change and environmental degradation.
