
Jordan Daily – Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, received his Lebanese passport at the Interior Ministry in Beirut, months after being granted citizenship by Lebanon’s president.
Infantino completed official procedures at the Interior Ministry, including submitting documents, being photographed and providing fingerprints, before receiving his blue Lebanese passport, officials said.
Infantino, who is married to Lebanese citizen Lina al-Ashkar, later met President Joseph Aoun and thanked him for granting citizenship to him and his family.
Lebanon granted Infantino nationality in recognition of his family ties to the country through his wife, according to officials.
