Jordan Daily – Firefighting teams from the Civil Defense Directorates of Ajloun and Jerash successfully extinguished a fire on Wednesday that swept through dry grass and forest trees in the woodlands of Ajloun, a spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said.
The blaze, which affected an area of 100 dunams , caused no casualties, the spokesperson added. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
The PSD reiterated its warning, emphasizing the need to follow issued guidelines to protect forests, woodland trees, and fruit-bearing trees. The Directorate also urged the public to avoid behaviors that can lead to fires, such as discarding cigarette butts carelessly, mishandling sources of ignition, and failing to fully extinguish fires after picnics.
