Jordan Daily – Five international airlines have temporarily suspended their flights to Jordan and the region due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, according to Haitham Misto, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission.
The airlines that have halted their flights to Amman include German carrier Lufthansa, which has suspended services until August 26, United Airlines until September 15, Austrian Airlines until August 26, Greek national carrier Aegean Airlines for an indefinite period, and Spanish airline Vueling until October 31.
Misto emphasized that these suspensions are precautionary measures taken by the airlines in response to regional developments, affecting not only Jordan but most Eastern Mediterranean countries. He noted that the suspended routes represent less than 3% of the total air traffic to and from Jordan, primarily involving airlines that operate limited flights to Amman.
