Jordan Daily – Chief Commissioner of Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) , Captain Haitham Misto, announced on Wednesday evening that Jordan has granted permits to resume flights from Sanaa to Amman starting Thursday, after a suspension of about a month.
Misto detailed the arrangements for the resumption of flights from Sanaa to Amman beginning Thursday, specifying that permits were issued to Yemenia Airways to restart flights from Sanaa to Amman from the 25th of this month.
Flights between the two cities had been halted since June 19, with a previous weekly average of around six flights, according to Misto.
However, Misto anticipates a significant increase in the number of flights, stating, “We expect a doubled number of flights, averaging about three flights daily until the demand for travel from Sanaa to Amman is met,” noting that many travelers are still waiting for the resumption of flights.
Yemenia Airways was granted the “right to operate” the flights, according to Misto, who mentioned that the airline had requested to operate a large number of flights following the suspension.
Misto indicated that the resumption would be at a high volume, expecting at least two to three flights daily until demand eases to normal levels, based on information from Yemen Airways.
He noted that the purposes of travelers coming from Sanaa to Amman are varied, including seeking medical treatment or transferring to other cities through Queen Alia International Airport.
