Jordan Daily – The Global Environment Facility (GEF) convened a specialized workshop in Amman, bringing together liaison officers from member countries across the West Asia and North Africa region to foster consultation and coordination.
In the opening remarks of the workshop, Marwan Al-Refai, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, underscored the important role GEF plays in supporting initiatives aimed at mitigating the devastating effects of climate change, as detailed in a ministry statement released on Monday.
Furthermore, Al-Refai stressed the significance of nurturing partnerships and fostering collaboration among GEF members to enhance the effectiveness of climate action.
Established in 1991, the GEF has remained its commitment to safeguarding the global environment and promoting sustainable development. With active participation from 183 countries, including Jordan.
