Jordan Daily – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in the city of Aqaba today, Saturday, in a visit to the Kingdom.
Scholz is set to meet with King Abdullah II tomorrow, Sunday.The Chancellor was welcomed at King Hussein International Airport by Naif Al Fayez, head of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Aqaba Governor Khaled Al Hajjaj, and the German Ambassador to Jordan, Dr. Bertram von Moltke.
Ahead of his two-day Middle East tour, which includes a visit to Israel, Scholz urged Israel to allow humanitarian aid access to Gaza on a larger scale.
He also voiced concern about Israel’s planned offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where more than half of the Palestinian population of 2.3 million have taken shelter.
