
Jordan Daily – GIA Apparel Industry, in collaboration with Aqaba University of Technology (AUT), held a “Mental Health Awareness Session” as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to support the local community and promote mental well-being.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to strengthen Psychological First Aid (PFA) skills through interactive activities and lectures delivered by lectures delivered by GIA Apparel’s specialized mental health team.
Participants discussed coping mechanisms for psychological stress and ways to provide support to individuals facing difficult circumstances. The session also highlighted the role of mental well-being as a key component of personal, academic, and professional success.

AUT President Professor Mohammad Hassan Al-Washah emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a culture of mental health awareness within the university campus. He said the university is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables students and staff to maintain psychological and social balance.
“Promoting mental health is a fundamental pillar in building individuals’ capacity for creativity and productivity,” Al-Washah said. “Organizing such activities reflects our ongoing efforts to instill values of support, cooperation, and social responsibility in partnership with national institutions.”

Raya Abu Dalbouh, of the CSR team at Classic Fashion said the initiative forms part of GIA Apparel Industry’s broader efforts to enhance mental health awareness in both the workplace and the wider community. It underscores the company’s commitment to supporting the psychological and social well-being of students and employees to help them achieve balance in their daily lives.
