GIA marks World Children’s Day with community event at SOS Village Aqaba

Jordan Daily – GIA Apparels Industry marked World Children’s Day with a community event at SOS Children’s Village Aqaba, featuring games, entertainment activities and gift distribution for village residents, including youth-house members.

Rohin Nambiar, Vice President of Operations at GIA said the company’s commitment goes beyond commercial results. “We believe that true success is measured not only in business outcomes, but in the well-being of the communities that surround us,” he said. “SOS Children’s Village Aqaba stands as a remarkable symbol of compassion, stability, and hope for children who deserve every opportunity to thrive.”

GIA General Manager Jimlesh Mathew attended the event, which drew participation from all children and caregivers at the village. The programme concluded with a group lunch that created an atmosphere of joy for the children.

Sharaf Darwish, Director of Children’s Village Programmes in Aqaba, said the initiative reflected genuine social responsibility.

“GIA’s initiative embodies true social responsibility and offers real support to the children most in need,” Darwish said. “Today we witnessed the joy on children’s faces through the interactive and recreational activities provided, and through the company representatives’ efforts to share the happiness of this global day.”

He added: “On behalf of all the children and their families, we extend our sincere thanks to GIA and all supporting partners. Such initiatives not only bring joy to children but also strengthen the values of humanity and solidarity that we strive to build in our community.”
