Jordan Daily – The German Jordanian University (GJU) has introduced two cutting-edge academic programs in the fields of social work and hydrogen technology engineering, in collaboration with the esteemed German Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt.
Recently approved by the Higher Education Council, these programs are set to welcome their inaugural student cohorts during the upcoming academic year 2023/2024. The unique feature of these programs lies in their structure, where students will spend their first preparatory year at the German Jordanian University. Upon successful completion, they will proceed to the main study program at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, with the initial two years of teaching taking place at the German Jordanian University campus.
Supervised by specialized faculty from both universities, students will immerse themselves in an exceptional learning experience. During the last three semesters, they will have the privilege of studying at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt in Germany, according to a press release by GJU.
The President of the University, Prof. Ala’a Eddin Al-Halhouli, expressed his pride in this unprecedented collaboration between a Jordanian university and its German counterpart, which promises to produce skilled Jordanian and Arab professionals. These graduates will be well-equipped to contribute effectively to the Jordanian, Arab, German, and global markets, especially given the high demand for expertise in these fields.
The social work program prepares students to address the psychological and social aspects of individuals and groups, fostering competent social workers. On the other hand, the hydrogen technology engineering program focuses on the various dimensions of hydrogen energy, its transportation, storage, and potential applications, providing future specialists in this dynamic field.
Graduates from these programs will be awarded bachelor’s degrees from the German University of Würzburg, granting them the opportunity to pursue a residence permit for employment prospects. It is evident that the German, European, and international markets eagerly anticipate professionals trained in these crucial disciplines.
