Jordan Daily – The German Jordanian University and Istishari Hospital have entered into a collaboration agreement with the aim of providing training opportunities for nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing and those enrolled in dual studies programs at the hospital.
The agreement, signed by Prof Ala’a El-Din Al-Halhouli, the university’s president, and Dr. Tariq Al-Lawzi, the hospital’s general director, outlines the cooperation between the two institutions in various areas. This includes jointly developing academic, scientific, research, and training projects, which will be submitted to relevant authorities,according to a press release.
The agreement also emphasizes support for medical, health, and clinical research, fostering joint research efforts, and contributing to the advancement of medical and health services.
As part of this partnership, experiences and knowledge will be exchanged between the hospital and the university’s Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship. This collaboration aims to promote a culture of innovation and start-ups, facilitate technology transfer in the field of entrepreneurial ideas and innovation, and enhance the skills and training of personnel in both academic and applied health fields.
The agreement also grants access to the laboratories available to both parties, further enhancing the training and research capabilities of the students and staff involved.
The university has recently introduced a new bachelor’s program in nursing, which is set to begin the upcoming first semester of the academic year 2023/2024. This partnership with Istishari Hospital will undoubtedly provide valuable practical experience and enhance the educational journey of the nursing students, contributing to the development of the healthcare sector in the Kingdom.
