Jordan Daily – The German Jordanian University (GJU) has achieved a major milestone in the QS Arab University Rankings 2026, climbing to 39th place from 54th last year – a 28% improvement that places it ahead of 87% of regional institutions.
GJU President Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli received the official QS Arab certificate during a ceremony held in Oman, marking international recognition of the university’s growing academic and research excellence, GJU said in a statement seen by Jordan Daily.
The university ranked first in Jordan for the “faculty-to-student ratio,” second for both “citations per paper” and “international faculty,” and third for “papers per faculty member,” reflecting strong performance in teaching quality, research productivity, and global engagement.
Prof. Al-Halhouli said the achievement underscores GJU’s commitment to applied education, innovation, and preparing students for the demands of local and global job markets. He added that the university will continue advancing its academic and research programs in line with evolving global standards.
“This accomplishment is not just a number,” Al-Halhouli said. “It represents our ongoing dedication to excellence, innovation, and knowledge leadership – and the collective efforts of our faculty, students, and partners in elevating GJU’s standing regionally and internationally.”
