Jordan Daily – Hamas stated on Monday night that it has informed mediators of its intention to adhere to its initial demands. These include a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, the repatriation of displaced Palestinians, and a substantive prisoner exchange. These demands have been repeatedly dismissed by Israel as unrealistic.
Israel has consistently rejected Hamas’s calls for a full military withdrawal and a permanent ceasefire.
Furthermore, Hamas has stipulated that any future hostage releases are contingent upon Israel’s commitment to ending the conflict. Israel has labeled this demand as “unrealistic” and has asserted that its military campaign aimed at dismantling Hamas’s military and governance capabilities will recommence once any hostage-ceasefire agreement is put into effect.
