Jordan Daily – On the first anniversary of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, Abu Ubaida, the military spokesperson for Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades, called on Islamic scholars worldwide to move beyond verbal condemnations.
In a televised address, Abu Ubaida asked, “Are you waiting for the news of the demolition of Al-Aqsa Mosque one morning?” He urged Islamic scholars to advocate for the obligation of jihad against the “enemy of the Muslim world” and to highlight the threats faced by the Palestinian people and both Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Abu Ubaida also called for a broad Arab, Islamic, and international campaign in support of the Palestinian people. He emphasized the need for a major cyber-attack against Israel by electronic warfare experts, stating, “The Zionists must understand that they are rejected by the free world.”
Reflecting on the past year since the operation, Abu Ubaida said, “We address you from resilient, steadfast Gaza, which has triumphed over its enemy. A year has passed since the most professional and successful commando operation in modern times. We dealt the enemy a significant preemptive strike after learning they were close to launching a major assault on Gaza’s resistance forces.”
He concluded by noting that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle came as a response to what he described as unprecedented aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, settlement expansion, and increased hostilities against Palestinian prisoners.
