Jordan Daily – A Lebanese court on Friday ordered the release of Hannibal Gaddafi, the son of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, after 10 years in detention without trial, in exchange for bail set at $11 million, a judicial official told AFP.
Gaddafi, 49, had been suffering from what his lawyers described as a “worrying” health condition in recent days, prompting renewed calls for his release.
He was arrested in Lebanon in December 2015 on charges of withholding information related to the 1978 disappearance of prominent Shi’ite cleric Imam Musa al-Sadr and two companions during their visit to Libya.
