Jordan Daily – The parliamentary legal committee, in a closed meeting held yesterday, approved the draft cybercrime law for the year 2023; to present it to the House of Representatives at the next session.
According to a source, the committee reduced the harsh penalties and financial fines by more than 20 percent, in addition to merging articles and adding an article for extortion.
The source stated that the demands of the Jordan Press Association were met, and the penalties and fines stipulated in Articles 15, 16 and 17 of the draft law were reduced to 50 percent.
