Jordan Daily – Independent Elections Commission (IEC) Chairman Musa Maaytah said on Wednesday that lawmakers found linked to the banned Muslim Brotherhood will face legal action.
Maaytah noted in press remarks that if the Islamic Action Front (IAF) is dissolved over alleged links to the outlawed group, its parliamentary seats would be reallocated to other parties under electoral law.
He confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine whether the party was aware of any activities involving individuals charged in connection with the Brotherhood. If a link is established, the case would be referred to the Court of First Instance, in accordance with Jordanian law.
Three party members have already been suspended pending investigation. Maaytah stressed the judiciary will decide the outcome and called for patience as inquiries continue.
