Jordan Daily – The Embassy of India in Amman marked the 78th Independence Day of India with a vibrant celebration at the Chancery premises today. The event, attended by a large gathering of the Indian diaspora and friends of India in Jordan.
The ceremony commenced with Ambassador Mr. Manish Chauhan hoisting the Indian national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthems of both India and Jordan. The Ambassador also shared key excerpts from the President of India’s address to the nation on this significant occasion.
In his speech, Ambassador Chauhan extended Independence Day greetings and reflected on India’s remarkable journey of progress since gaining independence. He also emphasized the strong and cordial relations between India and Jordan, acknowledging the pivotal role of the Indian community in fostering closer ties between the two nations.
The Ambassador praised the Indian community in Jordan for their contributions to strengthening people-to-people connections and for their active involvement in various Embassy-led initiatives.
The celebration featured cultural performances, including a vocal rendition of patriotic songs by family members of the Mission and a dance presentation by a young member of the Indian diaspora, adding to the festive atmosphere.
