Indonesia condemns forced displacement, reaffirms two-state solution

By : JD

Jordan Daily – Indonesia has strongly condemned any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians or change the demographic composition of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, saying such actions undermine efforts toward achieving an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

In a statement on Wednesday, Indonesia reiterated its support for the two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

The called on the international community to uphold international law, particularly the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and their inalienable right to return to their homeland.

Indonesia emphasized that the only path to lasting peace in the region is by addressing the root cause of the conflict: the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, which Jakarta deems illegal and protracted.
