Jordan Daily – The Government of Indonesia strongly condemned Israel’s recent decision to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) from operating within its borders, which has led to disruptions in the agency’s services across the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza.
In a statement seen by the Jordan Daily , Indonesia said the Israeli Knesset’s move is a violation of the UN Charter and the 1946 Convention on the privileges and immunities of UN agencies.
Jakarta reaffirmed its support for UNRWA, which is mandated by the United Nations to provide essential services such as education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid to millions of Palestinian refugees.
“Indonesia remains committed to supporting UNRWA in fulfilling its crucial mandate,” the statement read.
Indonesia also urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take immediate action to halt Israel’s actions and ensure its compliance with international law, UN Security Council resolutions, and the rulings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which call for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
