Jordan Daily – Syrian factions backed by Iran have redeployed their forces in areas they control after Israeli air strikes hit targets in Deir al-Zor province near the Jordanian border, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Monday.
The Britain-based monitor said the pro-Iranian forces were on high alert and had detained several people suspected of spying for Israel in the wake of the attacks.
Sources told the observatory that five people were arrested in Al-Bukamal, a town on the border with Iraq, and two others at the al-Nayrab military airport.
The observatory reported on Saturday that four pro-Iranian militants were killed in Israeli raids on the Aleppo airport area in northern Syria.
