Jordan Daily – Iran’s Chargé d’Affaires in Jordan, Ambassador Ali Asghar Nasseri, on Tuesday praised the legacy of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and reiterated Iran’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause during a reception marking the 47th anniversary of the revolution.
Nasseri in a speech emphasized the revolution’s foundation on “resisting domestic tyranny and foreign domination,” and highlighted the country’s progress in fostering “self-reliance and the utilization of internal capacities to achieve self-sufficiency and resilience against global hegemonic forces.”
He noted Iran’s advancements in science, technology, and healthcare, and its growing military capabilities, all of which he attributed to the revolutionary spirit.
“The revolutionary spirit of the Iranian people and their unwavering belief in self-reliance became the foundation for significant transformations and remarkable achievements across various fields,” Nasseri said.
He also underscored Iran’s strong stance on the Palestinian issue, stating, “From the very beginning, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been proud to place the defense of the Palestinian people and their rightful resistance at the core of its foreign policy.” Nasseri added that Iran believes “the Palestinian people’s struggle will persist with unwavering resolve” until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Nasseri praised Jordan for its continued support for the Palestinian cause, saying, “I consider it my duty to express, on behalf of my government, our profound appreciation for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its relentless humanitarian assistance to the oppressed people of Gaza.”
He concluded by stressing the importance of regional cooperation and unity in facing external threats, particularly those he associated with Israel. “The elimination of external threats and conspiracies against the region’s nations, particularly the Zionist regime’s expansionist schemes, depends entirely on sustaining unity, fraternity, and close cooperation among regional countries,” Nasseri noted.
