Jordan Daily – Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris has announced €20 million in aid for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to support its humanitarian efforts in Gaza, the West Bank, and Palestinian refugee camps across the Middle East.
Harris highlighted in a statement Ireland’s commitment to increasing aid amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza, where over 47,000 people have been killed. He also voiced concern over Israeli legislation impacting UNRWA, urging Israel to reconsider.
Minister of State Neale Richmond noted the funding brings Ireland’s total contribution to UNRWA to €38 million since 2023, supporting 5.9 million Palestinian refugees in the region.
