Jordan Daily – Yarmouk University and the Irish Embassy discussed ways to enhance academic cooperation between the university and Irish educational institutions on Sunday.
University President Dr. Islam Massad emphasized the importance of building academic bridges with Irish universities and providing training opportunities for medical students in Irish hospitals through programs that equip them with necessary skills according to international standards.

Irish Ambassador Marianne Bolger highlighted the significance of establishing academic cooperation between various Irish and Jordanian educational institutions, which would enhance student and faculty exchanges, as well as joint research and scientific projects.
Ambassador Bolger also honored students from the university’s model school who won first place in the Jordan Young Scientist (JoYS) competition, founded by the Embassy of Ireland in collaboration with Al-Hussein Technical University and the Crown Prince Foundation. The winning project, a brain tumor monitoring system, earned the “Yarmouk Model School” team a spot in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in Ireland.
Dr. Massad expressed pride in the model school’s students and its teachers for their achievements in various fields and competitions, praising the team’s accomplishment in the competition.
Ambassador Bolger commended the scientific and creative excellence of the Jordanian students participating in the competition, particularly the first-place winners from the Yarmouk Model School. She affirmed the embassy’s commitment to supporting Jordanian youth, who represent a promising generation contributing to development.
Additionally, Ambassador Bolger inaugurated a screening of the Irish documentary “Gaza,” as part of the European Film Festival.She also opened the opened Ireland’s “Peace Heroines” Exhibition at the Hussein Bin Talal Library, focusing on women and youth in Ireland.
