Jordan Daily – Israel has informed the Palestinian Authority that it will prevent an Arab ministerial delegation from entering the occupied West Bank for a planned visit on Sunday, a senior Palestinian official said late Friday.
The delegation, which was scheduled to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa in Ramallah, was expected to provide political and financial backing to the Palestinian leadership.
“Palestinian and Arab contacts are underway to reverse Israel’s decision to block the visit,” the official said.
The official accused the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deliberately seeking to weaken the Palestinian Authority, saying the move was part of a broader strategy.
“The Israeli decision to bar the Arab ministerial delegation is a reflection of Netanyahu’s policy to undermine the Palestinian Authority, particularly after learning the visit aimed to express support,” the official noted.
The Palestinian leadership condemned the decision and warned of its potential consequences.
