Israelis prohibited from owning property in Jordan, official confirms

Jordan Daily – Ahmad Al-Omoush, the director general of Department of Lands and Survey, confirmed that Israeli nationals are prohibited from owning property in Jordan, citing the principle of reciprocity.

The clarification came after new guidelines were issued governing real estate ownership for non-Jordanians in the kingdom.

Al-Omoush explained that under Jordan’s property laws, foreign nationals are only allowed to own real estate in Jordan if Jordanians are granted the same right in their respective countries. This rule, he added, applies to foreign nationalities but excludes Arab citizens.
