Israel’s occupation is the biggest threat to regional security, says Safadi

Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, condemned Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank, accusing Israeli officials of enabling war crimes and spreading disinformation to divert global attention from their aggression.

In a post on the X platform, Safadi stated that Israeli officials are attempting “to justify the cold-blooded massacring of innocent Palestinians” and are violating international law. He asserted that “the biggest threat to regional security is Israel’s occupation of Palestine,” along with its “racist policies, illegal measures, and continued war against Palestinians.”

Safadi condemned the “celebration of killing children,” the use of starvation as a weapon, and attacks on hospitals, schools, and UN humanitarian missions. He also criticized the violation of Muslim and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem and the denial of Palestinian rights.

Expressing support for EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell’s proposal to impose sanctions on Israeli officials, Safadi urged the international community to take immediate action. He called for sanctions and a halt to weapon sales to Israel, emphasizing that Israel “cannot be allowed to continue to violate international law, defy the will of the international community, massacre Palestinians, and threaten regional security with impunity.”
