Japanese Embassy in Amman celebrates National Day, highlights bilateral ties

Jordan Daily – The Embassy of Japan in Jordan hosted a reception on Wednesday, celebrating the 65th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor.

The event marked the enduring friendship between Japan and Jordan, which spans over seven decades. Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan, ASARI Hideki, emphasized the importance of political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, citing Japan’s support for regional stability and its assistance to Palestine, which has totaled $230 million since October 2023.

The Ambassador also noted Japan’s economic partnership with Jordan, with over $4.3 billion in assistance, including projects such as water resource management.

Cultural ties were highlighted through an Ikebana flower arrangement and an exhibition showcasing Japanese companies, including Toyota and Mazda. The event also featured a Japanese food section and a booth dedicated to Japan’s cultural attractions and JICA’s programs in Jordan.

Looking ahead, Expo 2025 in Osaka is expected to strengthen bilateral relations further. Jordan will present its Pavilion under the theme “Weaving Possibilities.”
